A zest for life and genuine love of people are at the heart of all of Karin’s pursuits. Whether she is advising a client through a complicated legal transaction, mobilizing a city to support families of children fighting life threatening illnesses, or equipping budding entrepreneurs with the tools they need to chase their dreams, Karin’s passion is to find creative ways to overcome the obstacles that hinder people at any stage of life.

Her newest book, The Trust Tank, is a combination of encouragement, instruction, and insight for those who desire to build stronger alliances with other like-minded individuals for business endeavors and community projects.

As an attorney, licensed in Tennessee and Florida, Karin’s emphasis is on serving corporate clients, small business owners and entrepreneurs. As such, she often acts as “outside” in-house counsel, taking her clients from start-up formation through commercial litigation. Karin@paparellilaw.com

Karin is certified in international wine law and has traveled the world extensively for various projects. These days, she is frequently found tramping around Europe visiting old estate wineries and interviewing winemakers for a book she is writing on sparkling wines, called “Everything Good Begins with Bubbles.”

Karin graduated cum laude with a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law with a concentration in international law, and was awarded the National Order of Scribes Award for excellence in legal writing upon graduation. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. from Belmont University. She has also studied internationally in Reims, France; London and Oxford England; and Grand Cayman. She is an author of several books and many articles and has been published by the ABA, the Florida Bar, and various international journals. She has also been hailed as an expert for her legal work on foreign investing in Cuba.

Karin is presently a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and the Tennessee Bar, admitted to the U.S. Court of International Trade in New York, serves as vice-chair to the ABA International Intellectual Property Rights Committee, and serves in a judiciary capacity as an arbitrator for the Financial Regulatory Authority (FINRA) for greater Nashville.

Karin is committed to her community. She is a member of the board for Strength for Service, Inc., a Nashville non-profit serving military & first responders, founder and executive director for Divas and Dudes, Inc., a national non-profit supporting families of children with life threatening illnesses, and an advisory board member of HOLA, a non-profit dedicated to mentoring the Latino community in Middle Tennessee.

Karin is the mother of five mostly grown children. She enjoys the company of good friends both old and new, chasing foxes on horseback through the beautiful fields of Tennessee, spending winters on Florida’s Gulf coast, traveling anywhere off the beaten path, and being with her family.
